Annual Symposium of CIPRA Austria

Twenty years after the first Alpine Conference in Berchtesgaden / Germany, CIPRA Austria takes stock and deals with the international occurrence regarding the Alpine Convention, in particular with the level of the legal implementation of this agreement throughout Austria.

After an initial illustration of the starting position and the status quo of the Alpine Convention’s legal implementation in Austria, selected protocols of the Alpine Convention will be highlighted, for instance the preservation of nature and soil conservation protocols as well as the provisions in the areas of tourism and transport.

Moreover, the focus will be on the environmental compatibility assessment and strategic environmental control. The “Legal database of the Alpine Convention” as well as the “Service point for legal aid and legal development”, two important milestones in the implementation process of the Alpine Convention, will also be presented.

Those and further issues will be discussed during the Salzburg symposium in order to invigorate the Alpine Convention process and to furthermore advocate the mutual dialogue and exchange of experiences.

More information regarding the programme of the Annual Symposium of CIPRA Austria as well as the contact and the registration form can be found here.
